Yes, yes indeed - it has been well over a month since I posted last. I don't really have an excuse, other than I've been busy getting my life and business in order for the start of a busy spring and summer. This past weekend Peter and I cleaned our apartment, but really cleaned it - spring cleaned it you might say. I put daffodils in vases in almost every room - and it feels wonderful knowing that April is beginning in a few hours.
April brings many things - and one of them is my 30th birthday, which I'm looking forward to actually. My mom used to write on the calendar for her birthday "29 again" every year. I thought I may feel the need to do that, but I don't just yet. Maybe when I'm much older I'll begin that tradition, but I have a feeling I won't. I've heard wonderful things about being in your 30s and I'm looking forward to what mine will bring. But, that's for another post I'm sure.
For now - Spring signals the beginning of the real estate market picking up, which means I become a bit busy photographing interiors and exteriors. When I think of what "my" photography is - I believe it's the study of relationships; people's relationships to themselves and to others, and to the things they connect with - which includes the spaces they inhabit.
I love photographing people. People bring me joy. However, my other passion in photography is interiors of homes. I love to see and feel the connection between the people and the spaces in which they choose to live. I find it so interesting to see how different everyone decorates their homes - what they find important - what they want to showcase. I've been photographing some really great spaces recently, so I thought I'd show you some.
I'd love to sit with a book and a cup of coffee and enjoy the sunlight in this kitchen.
Same thought as with the first photo - only in this room I'd like a cup of tea. I think this room is beautiful.
I'd be grateful for any comments - even ones telling me I need to post more. You may influence me to do so - try and see. I will do my best to update a little more often than once a month.
