Beth & Eric are getting married in just a few days. We originally had our shot scheduled for last weekend...a beautiful sunny day. With little time left before the wedding their friends held their respective bachelor and bachelorette parties the day before our shoot. Needless to say - our plan didn't really work out all that well. I should say that Beth was ready to go - Eric on the other hand...well, his friends made sure he had a great time. The entire point to having the shoots before the wedding is to get comfortable - them with me, and me with them. I wanted Eric to like me, and for both of them to like the photos, so we rescheduled for the following Sunday.
My trip to the Cape began in NJ where I was celebrating my best friend's bachelorette weekend (it's that time of year I guess). I left early on Sunday, drove to Providence to pick up Peter (he took the train there) and then together we drove to the Cape. Ugh! Traffic! That's all I really remember of my drive - that and sleepiness setting in. I would call Beth every few hours to give her an update. She told me about the lack of sun and the fog - and I told her that we'll use what we're given...not totally realizing the extent of the fog. I arrived in Providence and Peter took over the wheel. I pretty much fell asleep as soon as we started our drive - that's my usual M.O.
I awoke just as we were going over the Bourne Bridge - which was absolutely covered in fog. We met up with Beth & Eric and we followed them to Eric's parent's home where we were set to take a ride on their boat for our shoot. Everything happens for a reason (I believe), or maybe I believe that you can find amazing moments in whatever day you are given. The sun a week before would have been beautiful I'm sure, but the fog created an amazing backdrop. All that was left to do was add our handsome couple to the scene.
Thank you to Eric's parent's Eric and Dawn, for taking us out, driving us around, and for Eric's superb boat driving - giving me lovely backgrounds to all of the photographs.
See you all in a few days!!
