We've arrived at the third and final installment of Julia & Peter's wonderful Wellfleet wedding. One thing I meant to mention earlier - Julia's parents were married in the same church and had their reception at the Chequessett Yacht Club as well. Any place that has a history attached to it like that - I'm a sucker for, as many of you know.
In planning our own wedding, one thing Peter and I are pretty positive about is that we want to split up the dinner from the dancing. Julia & Peter chose to do the same thing - and I love the way it worked out. Cocktails were down by the water in the boathouse that houses the sails, rudders, and other sailing essentials. Then we all went to the clubhouse for dinner - and then back down to the boathouse for dancing.
Cocktail hour...and a speech by Julia's father, which had everyone laughing and there were also a few tears in the crowd too.
Every detail was orchestrated by Kate Edmonds and her fabulous team.
Dancing began just as the sun was setting - and continued on into the night.
Best parent dance I've seen this year (so far, I still have one more wedding to go) was Julia and her Dad. They danced to (at least I'm pretty positive about this) "Dirty Water" by the Standells. It was the most upbeat father/daughter dance I've ever seen.
Thank you again Julia & Peter!!
