We were at home in NJ for just a few days...a whirlwind of activity - and now I'm in my office in MA smelling the aroma of fireplace that lingers still in my comfy sweater. My home in NJ always smells like fireplace...even in the summer. In fact, my friend Allie (or Ali, whichever you prefer - I prefer the former) often says that the smell of fire is the smell of Lara's house. But, I digress...a whirlwind of activitiy, and then like many of you, we found ourselves turning around at the beginning of our trip back to Boston on Sunday and spending another night by the fire...which was fine with me.
I really enjoyed my time at home...here are just a few snapshots...
These are some of my most favorite people. My best friends Jen and Trisha Rae, you know Peter, the fantastic Melissa who makes me smile every time I see her, and Kevin. Kevin and I went to photography school together and has become a great friend to all of us. I love all of these people very much.
We have a tradition of getting together this time every year, and I'm incredibly grateful we were able to keep the tradition going this year.

And what would Christmas be without a photoshoot with my brother?

Yes...you are seeing a Santa hat, a cravat - and argyle socks. That's Graham.

And finally...my cat, Rascal. I tend to not talk about my cat (who lives in NJ) to many people. Somehow being a 'dog' person is way more accepted than being a 'cat' person. Well, just this once I will say that I love, love, love Rascal. I get excited to see him every time I go home. We definitely spend a good deal of time talking about him and talking to him - even though he's pretty deaf at this point. He never (never, ever) lays in front of the fire, but he finally came around after 18 years and actually enjoyed the warmth. I love him.

And that pretty much sums up my time in NJ - that, and a lot of playing with the Wii and Dominoes. Hope your Christmas was a great one filled with family, and if you didn't celebrate Christmas - I hope you enjoyed the weekend filled with snow!
