Bonnie & Burton arranged their day in a very different way - and in a way I loved. First - they did their photographs before the ceremony (which was wonderful!). Second - they had their guests arrive about two hours earlier than the ceremony. They served cocktails and food...and the best part - they joined their guests! They were able to see everyone and have conversations before the most important part of the day. This created a real feeling of community when they actually said their vows (which were amazing...and they wrote themselves).
All-in-all the day was overwhelmingly relaxed, and felt very warm and comforting. You could really sense how everyone that was there absolutely wanted to be there supporting Bonnie & Burton.
We're picking up where part one left off. Part two will be devoted to the ceremony because it was incredibly beautiful and very moving - and I couldn't narrow the photos down. This was perhaps the most moving ceremony I've ever witnessed (accept for my best friend's - but you know...). Peter and I noticed how more and more guests started to put their arms around one another as the ceremony progressed. Tears were definitely falling quite a bit as well.
Codman Farms...
These are B&B's friends who read during the ceremony. I couldn't resist grabbing shots of them with the barn in the background.
Everyone beginning to gather for the ceremony.
Bonnie and her dad, and her bridesmaids walked from the gardens to the barn. It was a bit of a distance, but well worth the walk - a very beautiful moment. I should say - all of the photos of Bonnie and her dad in the garden were taken by Peter. I am definitely jealous I didn't take them.
Bonnie lost her mom not too long ago - something we have in common. I knew her mom not being there was upsetting - understandably, but she made sure to include her in small ways such as wearing her jewelry. I admired the way she gracefully walked through the day - experiencing it fully - after all...it's her wedding day - a day you want to fully take in even if someone you love dearly isn't able to share in the day with you. But, I also noticed during the ceremony how every now and then she would take a deep breath and look slightly to the sky. My eyes would immediately fill with tears - knowing in a very personal and deep way who she was with in that moment. The next photo will forever be a special one to me.
Dancing after the ceremony! Loved it!!
After the dancing I had a few quiet moments with Bonnie & Burton. They were able to take in what had just happend and gather themselves for the celebration. And I was able to capture all of those emotions.
