Ellen & Bob | engaged

On a chilly November morning Bob took a walk at 4am to hide a bottle of champagne and two glasses. His mission was a bit dangerous...walking in the dark, scaling rocks - but he did it all for Ellen. He managed to leave and re-enter the house without Ellen waking.  Later that day Bob suggested they take a walk together.  They reached the rock he had hid everything by, hoping some teenagers hadn't come upon the loot and had themselves a little party.  He checked...nope, everything was in place. On that brisk day, overlooking a beautiful pond...Bob asked Ellen to marry him.  As we know...she said yes - and they celebrated with the carefully placed bottle and glasses.

For their shoot we decided to visit the scene of it all - taking along a bottle with us as well! Ellen and Bob are a pleaseure to spend an evening with.  They're wonderful story tellers - especially Bob, and they exude an energy of love between them...which makes my job very easy.

Ellen & Bob are getting married the weekend before us.  Peter and I are very excited to shoot their wedding...knowing what we'll be doing a week later.  See you both in September!

Glimpse of Maine & a Jam Winner!

Peter & I sat at The Wayfarer eating delicious blueberry pancakes, which we shared, and plates of eggs and homefries and reflected on how lucky we are to discover little places like this in our travels. We also mentioned how lucky we are to meet such amazing people who allow us to discover little nooks of towns we may never have visited.  So, Thank You to all of our wonderful clients - past, present, and future for bringing us into your lives...and giving us the opportunity to share in so much and discover so much!

You absolutely NEED to eat at The Wayfarer in Cape Porpoise the next time you're in the area.  So tasty.  We wanted those pancakes for days to come...I want them now in fact.

Being Showered | A Contest!

This weekend I'm home in New Jersey for my wedding shower. I've been to my fair share of showers and never really envisioned what mine would be like. Here I am, a day away from finding out. To be perfectly honest, I'm not the biggest fan of showers in general. They're usually a bit awkward...mixing two families for perhaps the first time - and everyone watching the shower-ee open gifts (which seems to go on for way longer than anyone has the attention span for).

Luckily my lovely and wonderful friends and Aunt know all of this about me, so I have faith that my shower will be just a little different than the norm. But whatever kind of shower I have, the part I'm looking forward to the most is seeing all of the people who come.  I may even get to see some people I haven't seen in years, which I'm sure will bring tears to my eyes.

Receiving gifts is fun of course, but I enjoy giving gifts a little more.  This weekend I'd love to give someone out there a gift in honor of my shower. Peter and I will choose a lucky winner who will receive Sarabeth's Jams from Williams-Sonoma.  You'll get all six jams....plum cherry, orange apricot marmalade, strawberry raspberry, mixed berry, peach apricot and pineapple mango. I'm a lover of jams...on any kind of bread, mixed into my oatmeal, and even with greek yogurt.  

Mmmm...

Karin & Cliff | married in Boston

Karin & Cliff's wedding was a Boston wedding through and through.  They were married in South Boston (the place they call home), had their photographs taken in the Public Garden and celebrated in town at the Omni Parker House. When I first met Karin & Cliff I could tell right away they were a fun loving couple who enjoyed to simply be with each other. Their wedding day was exactly that - a day they spent together...a bit more dressed up perhaps, and joined by family and friends, but a day they took everything in - together.

The day began and ended at the Omni Parker House - with stops in South Boston and the Public Garden in between.  Thank you to all the wonderful people who made Karin & Cliff's day as perfect as it was:
