When I look back on Mary & Harold's wedding the first words that come to mind are tears of joy. There were so many moments of complete joy when tears flowed and kept coming. As you know, I love a good cry, so I was right there with them. One of Mary's gifts to Hank was a set of embroidered handkerchiefs. I think she might have been planning ahead a little bit, knowing he would hand one over to her when needed.
Mary & Hank's wedding took place at the Atlantic Inn on Block Island. The entire day was beautiful. The sky was the right mix of blue and clouds. There was a breeze blowing in from the water. The Inn was perfect - quaint and incredibly picturesque. And then there's M&H themselves who gave themselves over to the day. They let themselves truly (truly) take in every moment. They experienced their wedding day to its fullest - and that makes the memories that much stronger, and gives the photographs that much more feeling and beauty.
One of my favorite details of the day is Mary's dress. Both her Grandmother and Mother wore it themselves. The reactions of Mary's Grandmother & Grandfather seeing her in the dress for the first time was incredibly moving – and something I personally will never forget.
Mary & Hank – We cannot thank you enough for including us in your day. It was truly an honor to witness the love you have for each other, and for your family & friends as well. Best Wishes!
