Remember how the month of May was like summer – so humid. Well, luckily Kate & Andrew chose to have their celebration at Rockywold Deephaven Camps. They took over the whole place and had friends and family stay in all the cabins for the week. Their wedding day was beautiful, but definitely hot. In between the ceremony and cocktail hour many of their guests, including Kate’s dad and a few members of the wedding party, went swimming. At one point Peter said to me, “This is your kind of wedding.” I completely agreed. My only wish was that I could jump in too. *Must remember to pack bathing suit in camera bag.*
Kate’s dress was vintage with a little updating by Seams Couture. The dress was previously worn by her grandmother, mother and aunt. The big change was a new silk taffeta skirt with a petticoat made of blue tulle that later turned into a skirt for dancing. Pretty fun! And there was definitely a lot of dancing! They had the best wedding band we’ve heard all year – First Class Band. The evening ended with a bit of rain, but after all that dancing no one seemed to mind the refreshing walk back to their cabins.
Thank you for having us, Kate & Andrew!
