With each wedding we shoot before our own, both Peter & I become more and more emotional. Before Jessie & Mark walked down the aisle the four of us already shared some tears. As the wedding party started walking down the aisle I became overwhelmed with the joyous coming together of all of their guests - and immediately flashed forward to a few weeks from now. Crazy - that's all I have to say about that at the moment.
Jessie & Mark gave us almost 2 hours (!) before their ceremony to take photos of just them - and their wedding party - and their families. This means we were able to have a lot fun - grab some great shots - and they were actually able to join their guests and enjoy their cocktail hour!
Also - immediately after the ceremony, before any guests had the chance to break the space and mood surrounding them, we took them aside for 10 minutes. We got this amazing idea from our photographers, Justin & Mary. Peter and I are really looking forward to this part of our day in a few weeks. We've been doing this with our own couples for two seasons now - and we've been able to capture some pretty great moments, but I have to say, Jessie & Mark's 10 minutes were the most emotional we've ever been privileged to capture. They truly took it in and let themselves experience all of the joy and "oh my gosh, we're married!" thoughts and feelings. Much more of those shots to come in a later post. For now, here's a peek at their yesterday.
